I'm committed to helping clients cultivate wisdom, resilience, and emotional balance in the face of life's challenges.
By embracing principles such as acceptance of what we cannot control, mindfulness, and virtuous living, we can live more fulfilling and meaningful lives. Through our work together, we will develop practical strategies for cultivating peace of mind and navigating life's ups and downs with grace and resilience even in the face of adversity. Whether you're dealing with specific difficulties or simply seeking greater self-awareness and personal growth, I am here to support you on your journey.
Through stoic principles and a cognitive behavioral approach, we will examine how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. Our interpretations of our circumstances often have a greater impact on us than the circumstances themselves. The more unrealistic or out of line with nature our interpretations are, the more we suffer.
Each person is the expert on their own life and therapy is a collaborative process. By working together, I aim to help individuals develop a greater understanding of themselves, their values, and their goals as well as encourage them to take an active role in shaping their lives rather than feeling victimized by their circumstances.

I’ve been a psychiatric social worker and therapist for a wonderfully long time. I have provided therapy to adults, youths, and families throughout my career. My clinical career has led me to work with hundreds of people in need of emotional support and need of cognitive insights.
I’ve worked on Mobile Crisis Teams, in Psychiatric Emergency Rooms, and on multiple PHP and IOP programs. I’ve managed multiple Intensive Case Management programs, working with homeless individuals with mental health, substance abuse, and physical health issues.
I have an eclectic approach to my work. I utilize approaches from CBT, DBT, CPT, ACT, IFS, and Seeking Safety depending on the needs of my clients. Most of all I am drawn to see the humanity in each person and each situation. I believe that we are all, by in large, good people, trying to lead good lives. I also believe that the good and the bad are intrinsically intertwined throughout our lives.
I believe that kindness and sensitivity can be born from trauma and cruelty. Insensitivity and rage can be formed in the loving environment of having all one’s needs met and the difficulty of adjusting to not getting what one wants. I believe that pressure and frustration can cause good people to do bad things, that sometimes make it difficult for us to live with or love or respect ourselves.
I believe that Core Beliefs (beliefs that we hold about ourselves that are usually formed early in life and get reinforced repeatedly throughout our lives) can motivate our behaviors well into adulthood, examples of this can be not feeling lovable or feeling less than. These beliefs can drive behaviors such as avoiding others behind the walls of protection that we have built or creating other behaviors including people-pleasing or approval-seeking.
These Core Beliefs grow out of traumatic wounds we have incurred along the way, and I believe we have the power to heal our wounds and achieve an emotional, psychological, physiological, and spiritual balance. One of the primary obstacles to achieving this inner balance is the powerful feelings of self-loathing and unworthiness that we each carry. Again, I believe all the inner workings of our emotional and cognitive states can be worked on and improved.
I find that my thinking aligns closely with the work of Berne Brown and her emphasis on daring greatly to step into one’s vulnerability to make the fundamental changes we seek. As well as the work on the brilliance and power of self-compassion that Tara Brach and Kristen Neff talk about.
I’ve felt privileged and grateful to everyone, couple, and family who have shared their truth with me, or who have invited me to walk with them for some part of their journey allowing me to either share their burden or bear witness to their struggle in some way. I have felt so honored to do such honorable work.

Hello! I’m a Filipina, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 16 years of experience in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I graduated with my master's degree from John F. Kennedy University with a specialty in somatic psychology and my bachelor's degree from U. C. Berkeley.
I specialize in working with professional women and BIPOC who have a lot on their plate and feel like they’re going to collapse or explode if one more thing happens. I've been using somatic work in my practice for the past 20 years, first as a massage therapist and now as an LMFT. As a somatic therapist, I understand that insight and talk are insufficient to help people live their best lives.
Understanding oneself and having the "right" language for one's thoughts and experiences, while valuable, are not enough if you continue to feel disconnected and not present for the life you want. Through becoming more aware of your somatic experience (how you embody thoughts, feelings and behaviors), greater connection with the self and others and life satisfaction are inevitable. Ways we may do this in therapy are by mindfulness, movement, grounding and play.
My work is experiential, present-focused and interactive. Somatic work can help you feel the wordless joy, clarity and calm that arise from being at home with yourself.
In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy, what your goals are, and over time, the obstacles to those goals. We will talk about your needs, expectations, and previous experience(s) of therapy, including what has worked and what hasn't.
Whether there is a specific issue that you want to address, or you are looking for more insight and growth, healing comes in many forms. During treatment, I will work with your present moment and bodily experience to help you feel more alive, aligned with your values, and grounded in your everyday life.
Individuals come to me seeking a person who is not only highly trained, but also empathetic, kind, and honest - someone who has done their own work and can join them in theirs. I offer a space where you can feel safe, understood, and free to show up as your true self. I love helping people get to know themselves in a new way.
